Thanksgiving 2009 in Fort Montgomery

This thanksgiving the family trekked down to Fort Montgomery, NY to enjoy a little turkey, wine and unfortunately football with the rest of the Pushlar/Brainard Clan. Kris, Jen, Natalie and Amelia hosted the festivities. Ari even had Sasha to scamper with outdoors. Their backyard was ideal for two large dogs. The best part was the view from the thanksgiving table.

For thanksgiving dinner, we had turkey and all the trimmings minus the cranberry sauce. (“Yes, Jen I do like cranberry sauce.”) The red wine was flowing for the adults while the milk was a hit for the kids. After dinner, Drew took a nap on the couch while the rest of the family gathered around and watched football. The kids ran around in and outside.
I or as Jason calls me, “Julie the Cruise Director”, was able to gather the adults plus Kira in the kitchen to play some games. Alex even joined in on the fun.

Dessert, my favorite part, was White Chocolate Baileys Cream cheesecake, pumpkin roll, apple pie, and chocolate chip cookies. The kids quickly ate at least two dozen cookies. Luckily, there were no stomach aches later that night.

The night ended with Giants vs. Broncos football. The Giants disappointed the Pushlar men once again with a horrendous loss. Drew still holds out for a good finish for the Giants’ season. Fred has just given up on them and focusing on Syracuse Basketball. Kris is still not decided where he stands. For the rest of us we are counting down the Sundays.

It was nice to spend the holiday with family.
